Special ikebana workshops were conducted on April 16, Friday, in a special room, by Toshiko Kawata, Lily McMahan and Megumi Schacher. The suibans and kenzans were provided by the Japanese Consulate and Toshiko.
Toshiko did the moribana demonstration in the morning for the Kentlake High School, Kent, with Lily assisting the students. In the afternoon, Lily did the demonstration for the Mariner High School, Everett, while the students followed each step with Toshiko and Megumi assisting the students and chaperones. There were 30 in each class. The students were very proud of their achievements as they viewed each others arrangements and took the floral materials home.
