On September 11th and 12th, 13th Annual Japanese Cultural Arts Event (Aki Matsuri) was held in Bellevue College. Ikebana International Seattle Chapter #19 has participated in this event annually. This year 18 members and associates representing 6 schools, Ikenobo, Kofu, Ohara, Saga Goryu, Senke, and Sogetsu, exhibited their elegant arrangements. Hostesses attended the exhibition and explained the various styles of ikebana exhibited as well as answering questions. Demonstrations were given in front of "Stage 2" at the gym by Alice Yasutake (Senke School) and Megumi Schacher (Sogetsu School), which were well attended by interested people of all ages.
